Safe Haven – Life Skills Specialist (Weekend)
HOPE – Helping Other People through Empowerment, Inc. is a wellness and recovery center focused on supporting adults in Baltimore City with mental health and sobriety. HOPE’s Safe Haven program, located on the eastside of Baltimore City, is a 20-bed low-barrier, non-traditional residential program for individuals who are chronically mentally ill and homeless as defined by HUD.
Currently we are seeking Life Skills Specialists to work weekends at Safe Haven. Duties include teaching independent life skills and activities of daily living, including, but not limited to: nutrition and food preparation, self-care, socialization, recreational engagement, money management, cleaning, and increasing adaptive behaviors. Responsibilities also entail monitoring medication compliance, maintaining resident records, maintaining facility cleanliness, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma and 1-year experience, associate degree preferred
- Certified in CPR & First Aid, or within first month of hire
- Knowledge of mental illness, addictions, and trauma informed care are a plus.
- Ability to accept multiple pathways to recovery, including medication-assisted treatments, and the appropriate use of psycho pharmacological treatments for mental health diagnoses.
